Recent news coverage of Subtle Asian Baking’s founder, Kat Lieu
Modern Asian Baking at Home, a highly-anticipated debut cookbook by Kat Lieu, is delayed due to ongoing global supply chain issues.
Due to shipping and distribution channel slow-downs related to global supply chain issues, most products, including books, are experiencing delivery delays worldwide. These delays are the result of issues with limited shipping container availability, limited space on shipping vessels and rail transport, and overall port congestion, all of which are creating delays in the delivery of inventory to our warehouse. This in turn has caused unavoidable delays in the distribution of books to our accounts and ultimately to our customers. We apologize for any frustration and appreciate your patience and understanding through these unprecedented times. We promise Modern Asian Baking at Home will be worth the wait! Thank you for your patience; it is anticipated Modern Asian Baking at Home will be released late July 2022. Ebooks (Kindle, Nook, etc…) will be released in June 2022 as planned.

The 2022 #veryasianbakesale to help #stopasianhate is under way!
With the recent brutal murders of Christina Yuna Lee and Michelle Go, there continues to be a dire need to help #stopasianhate and to amplify Asian voices with this #veryasian fundraiser!
From now until the end of May 2022, we invite you to donate directly or host bake sales (virtually or in-person) along with the Subtle Asian Baking community, Stache of Goods, Cakes by Michelle, and Big Cake Mom to raise funds to help #stopasianhate. Our goal is to raise at least $6000, to be split evenly between The Very Asian Foundation and Heart of Dinner.
Note: You can also donate directly or run bake sales to donate portions of your proceeds! You don't have to be Asian or female to participate. Be an ally.
Here is a list of past and ongoing #veryasianbake initiatives going on around the world!

“There's something about baking that warms the heart. From the wonderful aroma of cookies in the oven to the fluffiness of a chiffon cake, baked goods are always a crowd-pleaser. But let's be honest, when we think about baking, we often equate it to western flavors and styles. Brownies, cupcakes, croissants, etc. It's not too often you hear bakers using pandan or miso or gochujang. Enter Kat Lieu, founder of @subtleasian.baking , a community she created to celebrate baking with an Asian twist. After a fruitless search for one source that aggregated Asian baking recipes, Kat decided to start her own. So as the holiday season kicks off, May decided to speak with Kat about how it all began and how this community of bakers has helped empower the AAPI community and beyond and fight Anti-Asian Hate one cake at a time! And of course, Kat brings on some of her special baked goods on the show so get ready for some holiday treats!”- The May Lee Show
